Wirehaired Pointing Griffon

 

Wirehaired Pointing Griffons are highly intelligent and easily trained.  They excel in both water retrieval and field pointing.  Their course, double layer coats are ideal for thick, rough cover and terrain.  These coats vary in coloring, but are typically gray with brown markings.  Their full coats come in around the age of 2-3 years old.  Griffons vary in size from 20 to 24 inches tall at the shoulder.  Griffs are excellent family dogs with strong devotion to their owners and friendly dispositions.  Griffons need plenty of exercise and attention for peak condition.  (Read more about Griffons at http://www.akc.org)
